When you are managing events or attendees you can perform an advanced search.
• In an advanced search, the Event Console provides tools to help you customize your own search query.
• You can choose to search on one or more fields, and use boolean operators to refine your search. (For example, you can choose certain words or phrases that you do not want to include in your search.)
To perform an advanced search
1. On the List tab for events or attendees, click the arrow at the Filter Results field.
2. Click Advanced Search.
3. In the Criteria Fields pane, mark the box next to each field that you want to search by.
4. In the Description pane, click the underlined text next to the field name.
5. At the Where field in the Search Words dialog, do one of the following to choose what words or phrases this field can or cannot contain:
• To search for items where the field contains a partial word, a whole word, or a phrase, click contains.
If you choose this option, the field may contain additional words or phrases. (For example, if you search this field for “New York,” the search would still find “New York City”.)
• To specify words or phrases that the field can not contain, click does not contain.
• To search for items where the field contains a specific word or phrase, click exactly matches.
In this case, the search would not find items where the phrase contains additional words. (For example, if you search this for “New York,” the search would not find “New York City”.)
6. Enter the word or phrase that you want the search to contain or not contain, then click Add Word; repeat this step to add additional words or phrases, as necessary.
Note: You can add as many words or phrases as you want. However, the option that you chose at the “Where” field (“contains,” “does not contain,” or “exactly matches”) applies to all the words that you enter.
7. At the Apply if field, choose one of these options:
• If you want the field to include all of the words that you added to the list above, choose All of the words match.
• If the field can include any of the words you added to the list above, choose Any of the words match.
8. Click OK to save your changes.
9. If you want to search on one field or another field, but not both, click the underlined text and, then choose or:
